When making rigs, attaching individual pieces of tackle, or just tying your pre-made rigs to your main line, you'll need to know the best knot for the purpose. There are so many knots and variations, we have selected a "Top Five" which we think are definitely worth knowing, followed by some more general purpose knots. Albright - Blood bight - Blood - Centauri - Uni - Round turn and two half hitches - Figure of eight - Reef - Sheet bend - Double sheet bend - Anchor hitch or Fisherman's bend

KNOT 1 - ALBRIGHT KNOT For joining two lines of different thickness
	Step 1 Lay the left hand line flat on the table looping back on itself as shown. Place the right hand line over the top of the left hand line and then underneath the same line as it then loops back on itself also as shown.
	Step 2 Pick up the end of the right hand line and loop it over the top and then behind the whole formation as shown. Repeat this looping process 5 more times so that the line is wrapped around 6 times as shown below.
	Step 3 Pass the end of this line through the remaining loop which has now been formed by binding the two lines together as shown. Pull the knot tight.
