When making rigs, attaching individual pieces of tackle, or just tying your pre-made rigs to your main line, you'll need to know the best knot for the purpose. There are so many knots and variations, we have selected a "Top Five" which we think are definitely worth knowing, followed by some more general purpose knots. Albright - Blood bight - Blood - Centauri - Uni - Round turn and two half hitches - Figure of eight - Reef - Sheet bend - Double sheet bend - Anchor hitch or Fisherman's bend

KNOT 1 - ROUND TURN AND TWO HALF HITCHES
Step 1
Place the end through the ring.
Step 2
Repeat step 1 for another complete turn.
Step 3
Take the end around the front of the main stem and then behind it and through the loop which has just been made.
Step 4
Repeat step 3 to form a second hitch.
Step 5
Pull the knot tight.
