Reviewing
Fish n Strips Crab Bait
As I was only after small fish, I found that I could
cut each piece into four to tip the bait off with
rather than use as a main bait.
My friend and I are mainly boat fishermen but occassionally
fish on the beach which is clean shingle. We first
tried using the strips off the beach with mixed results,
I personally used a three hook flapper, baiting all
of the hooks with lugworm. The outer two hooks I then
tipped with squid and the centre one I tipped with
the fish strips, using alternate green and white with
each cast.
On the first cast it was a white strip that took a
Pout Whiting. No luck next cast with the green, but
another Pout with the next white one. Nothing on the
squid tipped at all.
It then started to get dark and after that, it all
changed to the squid tips, with nothing coming to
the fish strips. My friend who used it as well caught
whilst it was still daylight but also caught two more
fish on them after it got dark.
I found the texture and consistency very good, they
were very practical and easy to use. It was left out
for fifteen minutes at a time, as is the normal time
before it is changed. On retrieval it was a little
soft but still on the hook well enough, although a
little messy to take off.
It was certainly very convenient to use as it keeps
very well, as long as it is kept dry.
